I am not too happy with the center. Initially I really was thinking that they teach the children and play with them. Now I almost believe that it is a care but not a learning center. They change diapers and give food (a lot of snacks and do not allow to bring your own food, so you are stuck with their unhealthy choices). They offer some art activities, but really, for this money I was hoping to receive feedback of what he is doing and how he is performing, what he is learning and if there is something interesting that happened, but we don t really get a lot of feedback. Another bad sign: since my son started (7 months) his teachers changed multiple times, back and forth The assistant director is now also gone, and they are again looking for a new teacher for his classroom. Looking for new one.

We've been with this center for 3.5 years now. My kids have fun with their friends and they are learning, which is key. It all depends on the teachers in the classroom what type of experience you have, but the current teachers are all very helpful and caring people who are always concerned about the wellfare of my children. I only gave 4 stars as it isn't the best priced facility, but you're paying for good care for the children.

The academic programs for preschoolers and kindergarten at Kindercare in Golfcrest Drive, San Diego, are excellent, teaching letters, numbers, and beginning word recognition and spelling. They have a Hooked on Phonics program (extra cost) to teach reading. Even the toddlers and 2's are taught their colors, numbers, body parts and alphabet. Music and arts are covered well, with children of all ages exposed daily to musical and arts/craft activities. In terms of physical activities, all children play outside daily (weather-permitting) in well-supplied and age separated playgrounds. Extra programs include Funnastics, a dance class and a tumbling class. There is also a mini-gym where the kids get to play with balls, exercise, dance to music etc. Parents can be involved as little or as much as they like. I would definately recommend this school for daycare, preschool and kindergarten.

Rooms are bright, toys and activities for young children are in good condition. Children have access to Hooked on Phonics, Music, and sports (some at additional fees and/or with outside vendor). Safety is taken seriously. Children seem to generally enjoy themselves. Classrooms have organized schedules from toddlers on up. Children are in separate rooms by age group. However, there is some turnover in teachers. Also, if you are very concerned about your child's diet, this play may not be for you, as snacks often include juice, vanilla wafers, or animal crackers. Fruit/veggies are offered with lunch and breakfast.
