School highlights:
I loved the Philosophy of this school. At first, it seemed that the overall atmosphere was perfect for my daughter, but after hearing how the preschool teacher spoke to her students I couldn't take her to the school any longer. The teacher was rude and disrespectful to the kids. My daughter was not in that class, but I was appalled at the lack of love for the other kids and pulled her right away.
We started taking our son here when he turned two. He had limited speech and some behavior issues. In the last six months he has improve both in his vocabulary and behavior. We love the teachers they have really taken the time to work with him. However, the school has a few issues. 1. The parking lot is very small and very close to a major street. 2. There is one gate that separates the school grounds from the street. 3. The front door to the school is always open, there is a chime that sounds when the door opens. Pretty much anyone off the street can walk in. 4. My sons hands were always dirty. I asked them when did they wash hands only to find out that it was rarely done. They didn't wash he kids hands before meals! They didn't even wash hands between diaper changes. 5.The nap mats and toys only get wiped down once a week. I would not have taken my son to this school had I questioned the cleanliness first. The teachers are really good, but the safety concerns are MAJOR. If SAFTEY is not a concern for your child this is the school for you.
This school is wonderful. The teachers are excellent and treat the children in a caring manner and handle behavior problems quickly and appropriately. My son has learned so much and is excited about learning. This is the only Montessori school in the area that applies the philosophy as it was meant to be.
We originally had our son in a private church school and were disappointed after a few weeks. I am so glad that we found this school. The teachers do great work with the kids, and I love that my son applies what he learns at home. My husband and I are both pleased with our son's progress, and plan to take our daughter here when she turns 3.
