My son has attended TGPM for 2 years and he has really thrived here. We plan to keep him here even for the Kindergarten program. The classroom teachers and the afternoon care teachers are excellant and very good with the kids. My son likes all his teachers. The teachers are very nice to the parents too. The latest thing my son is learning there is Chess and its amazing how the kids grasp the rules when a loving teacher teaches them. The school administration is great too. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone.
The teachers greet me whenever I arrive for either of my grandchildren and seem enthusiastic. My grandson was reading by age four, knew his letters when he was two and loves going to school. They put on a great and ambitious production for the entire school each year. His younger sister has just started and seems to be following in his footsteps. The children always seem to be having fun when I am there and yet I am amazed at how much they have learned at such a young age.
Average school with average teachers, some of them are rude towards the kids and even the parents and some of them don't speal English properly. Had 2 of my kids there for 2 and 1 year and was mostly disappointed. A lod of fluff (trying to milk the Montessori brand) with average results. I took my kids off the school and put them in Shoal Creek where they are doing very well. Won't recommend this school for parents who are seeking a sound education with high standards rather than marketing fluff.
I have had my daughter in The Growing Place Montessori for 3 years and have always been extremely pleased. I am a very attentive parent whom always does her 'homework' on any facility that I send my children to. I looked at 5 other Montessori schools when initially choosing a preschool. The owners, Dilip and Jennifer, are very involved and are always aware of what is going on. I never had any difficulty discussing situations with them and any issues that came up were resolved immediately. Either in person or through e-mail the correspondence is always quick and efficient. My daughter has been in the same class for 3 years and I love her teachers. Although I can not speak for the other teachers, they always seem friendly and very attentive in the general play areas and in after school care. I highly recommend this facility.
I'm a researcher, and 2 of my children have attended this school (one for 5 years) and I have always been very happy with the staff, application of Montessori principles, and the diversity of the population. I have looked at many Montessori schools, and I like the balanced approach that the school employs. They are very sensitive and loving and respect the individual needs of the children, while still offering a structure that they can count on. I think other parents should tour the facility and weigh their own personal needs against what this school offers. They had a great deal of parent references when I asked for them, and I was able to call and speak with other parents before enrolling. It should be noted that there are actually over 100 students in attendance, and that it serves 18 months-3rd grade.
Both of my children attend TGPM and I have been very pleased with the school. The school is run in an orderly fashion, facility is exceptional and my experience with the teachers has been nothing but good. Teachers and staff genuinely care about the students and work hard to bring out individual strengths and discourage behaviors that are inappropriate. All of this is done within the 'Montessori' approach which is very appealing to me. This is not daycare. It is a calender school program with creative and educational lesson plans. I am amazed at the progress my son has made during his 2 years at the school. My daughter can't wait to go to school every morning. To me, this is the best measure of all. My kids are happy and so am I.
