Palo Alto Montessori School

My son has really flourished here. It has been his fist school experience, starting at age three and up to now, almost five. He loves every day of it. For him, this has been a great social avenue. (i was never too worried about academics, since he already knows reading and a lot of math.) I can understand why other parents may feel frustrated with the lack of access to the classroom, but that approach is standard in Montessori environment. What's for a parent to do in a classroom? On the other hand, you can always ask for a conference with the director, who is quite familiar with every child's development and particular needs. This school offers each child a lot of individualized attention.

This school is not very good. They don't provide enough teacher -parent contact and you are not allowed in the classroom to follow your child's day. The teachers don't really fill you in how the day went by and the curriculum is vague. Artwork is limited.

I had a bad experience with this school. Their academic program look ok and they offer after school gym and ballet (with extra charge) which is nice. My daughter, who is 5, liked it for the first few months (she always loved being in school, she is very outgoing). When she started complaining I felt there was something wrong. They are too strict with discipline (I'm talking about 2-5 year-olds).
