Although Wagon Wheel takes itself very seriously this school is a mess. The facilities are gross and my son never wanted to use the bathrooms here and refused to potty train. The teachers pushed him and it was very hard on him. I really don't think this school should have the rep that it does because it is lacking in so many areas yet takes the time and money of the parents like it's an accredited university!

Any child is lucky to spend formative time here. There is a wonderful, accepting, creative atmosphere that permeates everything. Several teachers have 10+ years teaching experience. Beautiful facilities. Pricy, but worth every penny!

Wagon Wheel is exactly what a preschool should be, with a sweet family-like atmosphere. The campus has an enchanted quality-hard to believe that it is right in the center of LA. The kids all seem to be deliriously happy there (my child definitely is). The philosophy is very play-based and focuses on the kids' social development, which is exactly (and only) what should be focused on in preschool, in my opinion. The parent community is fun and friendly.

Over 1K/month for a school that has television as a scheduled part of the day! The snacks were all bread (parents had to request that fruit and real juice be served), teachers had max number of kids and so didn't let kids do art freely (too messy to let kids use their own glue). Nap time was more than one hour longer than the state mandates -- and kids are forced to stay in cots. Cramped, out of repair building (except for new offices being built for the director and staff). Sand, sand, sand everywhere. Art projects were repetitive and dull. There is no time during the day for individual choice of activities. All enrichment costs extra. Add to aggressive fundraising and a rude, snobby director/owner. I pulled my kid out in less than 3 months. Glorified daycare, without so so much glory.

This school has created a loving environment that has boosted my sons confidence in his own abilities. He has been exposed to art, many cultures, music, dance, marine biologists, firefighters, etc...Along with the freedom there is also structure which is approached as fun...perfect for children who are now entering the new world of a school system. I also love the open door policy for parents and the encouragement for parental involvement.
