Our daugther attended for two years, including summer school, and had a great experience - warm and nuturing environment and she was well prepared for kindergarten this year. Great teachers and staff. Recommended highly.
My daughter attended St. John's for two years and then moved on to Kindergarten prepared and ready to go! St. John's offers a warm, nurturing, loving start for children! The staff is dedicated to the children and the families. The director has been at the school for many, many years and is a strong leader with an excellent staff. Some parents wanted the school to change their Curriculum from social based to academic. " If it is not broken don't fix it" - St. John's is a true testament to this adage. It is the perfect start for children!
My son is finishing up his third year at St. Johns. His first year was challenging as he was the youngest in his class and quite anxious about separating and transitioning. The teachers and pre-school director were so patient and kind that he eventually came around. He has enjoyed his time since tremendously. This school is small enough that the director knows every child and every student gets individual attention. Teachers emphasize social skills like impulse control and learning to share. The grounds are lovely and the toys and equipment are perfect developmentally. The other families are nice and it is easy to strike up friendships with other kids. My only concern is the absolute lack of academic teaching- no teaching whatsoever of letters or numbers. We'll have to wait and see if that is an issue when our son starts Kindergarten in the fall.
We are only a few months into the session but so far my daughter is LOVING school! She is so happy at St. John's... and that makes me happy! St. John's was the right choice for us... it's a friendly place where the focus is on the kids having fun. So far so good!
