My son just finished his first year and I couldn't be happier. The staff are warm and friendly. He loves going to school and is turning into a cooperative, kind and friendly little boy. This is an authentic montessori school and I recommend learning about the montessori method...you will be sold! These developmental years can't be formed again and I believe the schools social-emotional learning philosophy has contributed to his peaceful development. It is a bit pricey, but worth it!
After sampling two Long Beach reggio-inspired preschools and investing months of research, we fell in love with Montessori Greenhouse and don't mind making the drive each morning! The teacher/student ratio is low, teacher and staff are wonderful, and the facility is homey, clean and organized (in true Montessori fashion). Aside from the Montessori materials, we really like that the classes have mixed age groups which enables an atmosphere of cooperation and collaboration. Our four year old has already found the love to do math, read, write in her journal each day. Some extras are their weekly music and dance program, and our favorite annual holiday show!
