A Child's Center of Wonder & Discovery

A wonderful preschool with the best school director you'll ever meet. She nurtures her staff and assures the children are taught with respect and the freedom to play as they learn. The classroom has 8-10 different "stations" which provide hands-on skill development and allows the child to have fun while they learn. Fantastic teacher/student ratio (3 teachers in each classroom), a security guard at the door, low tuition rates, lovely location adjacent to the lake where the kids get to go on nature walks, and most importantly, lots and lots of love!

What a find! I can't believe such a fabulous preschool exists here in Lakeside, and at the lowest tuition rates I've found anywhere. The director has a strong knowledge of how kids of this age range learn best (through "wonder" and "discovery", hence the name) and the teachers are all fantastic. They never dictate or manipulate, only guide and work with the kids. Behavior issues are dealth with by communication, rather than discipline. Class sizes are small (12 kids for 3-4 year olds, not sure about the 4-5 year olds as we're starting that this year) and there are 3 teachers in each class. I cannot recommend it more highly. The name is actually "A Child's Center of Wonder and Discovery" and it's located in the Lakeside community center. It is a preschool, and not a child care center as this site has mistakenly called it. They also offer a summer program in July.
