They accept ages 2 to 5, It is a PARENT PARTICIPATION School which means you are part of the school and you participate as a teacher's aide 2 to 3 times every six weeks and a Housekeeper (set up snacks, wash dishes....etc) once every six weeks. This is our 2nd year at the school. Our son is in Room 3 and he LOVES it. We love the feeling of being part of the community and part of our child's learning. As parent s we like participating in the classroom and meeting our son s friends and seeing what he is learning. Our son doesn t always elaborate about his day but the school sends weekly updates of classroom activities and photos, this keeps us in the know and helps us talk to him about his day when we aren t participating in the classroom. They supply the snacks which are always healthy, creative and yummy. The school is very inexpensive and you feel very much a part of a community and can also make some great friends with the other parents as you all work together to better your children.
Our child has completed all three years at the school. It is parent participation, which means that you are required to work at the school...in the classroom as an aide, cleaning the classrooms and play area, and on committee jobs. This isn't a drop-off/pick-up school. The parents really do run the school. The tuition and fundraising amounts are reasonable. The teachers work hard to encourage the children socially and artistically. This is not a school that focuses on the 3Rs, however, so don't expect your child to graduate reading. But you will have lots of great art, the children make lots of friends, and they are encouraged to grow into socially aware children. (Besides, you can teach your kid to read at home. Let 'em enjoy preschool.)
