ICNS is a coop school, which requires the parents to take on a job in the school, volunteer a certain amount of days per session, attend monthly meetings, and donate constantly to the school. My child is an alumni of ICNS and enjoyed the 2 years. My child made lots of friends and enjoyed the teachers. Positives: nice size playground, fun developmental activities, open classroom, parent participation equates to healthy snacks and clean facility, spending and bonding with your child, fun field trips, and affordable tuition. Negatives: teachers rely on the parents for everything (cleaning the school, teaching the students manners, doing physical sports with students, teaching students manners and respect, and doing activities with the students), fund raising from within the school, and unorganized expectations of the parents. Yes, I now coop means the parents are required to volunteer; however, other coops require less of the parents and the teachers actually interact with the students. For a more affordable price, the coop in Tustin has better hands-on teachers and activities.
