What a disappointment. A long family tradition has ended, what happened to our beloved preschool? The heart and sole of the program is gone, crabby teachers are not what I am looking for my sons 1st school experience...Live Oak here we come!

We love this school. The children are well cared for., the place clean, and they learn Spanish. Also now offer a non coop option.

This is our first year at HCNS and we have been quite pleased with our experience for our daughter. The curriculum is well-thought out with age-appropriate activities. Many fun things to do--arts & crafts, simple culinary activities, songs, games, inside & outside play areas. I have enjoyed getting to know the other parents (this did not happen at our last pre-school), and love that there are dads involved in the school. I think the staff is great. I was concerned about the size of the class vs. the size of the classroom (one-room schoolhouse), and the building is a bit, um, rustic, but it works and the kids don't complain. I am sorry to hear that someone did not have a great introduction to HCNS, but I would not hesitate to recommend it based on my own experience. Obviously, kids are going to be ready for different experiences at different times, and there is no "one size fits all" when it comes to schools. I can say that my daughter has never had a reaction other than "GOODY!" when I tell her it is time to go to school.

Wishing we had made a different choice for our family. Look and feel has completely changed and the environment feels stressful. It s hard enough leaving your child for the first time, you would think the staff, director would have experience working through separation issues, instead the she made it worse. Where s the heart? Not the first experience I had hoped for. Moving on to a more loving, less stressful environment without adult clicks Time to grow-up ladies.

Healdsburg Community Nursery School has a new director/teacher and teacher team. It is a cooprative preschool where parents can work once per week or once per month in their child's classroom. The parents and staff are so enthusiastic about the school and each child's experience. I love getting to see my child in action and to meet and enjoy all the other little personalities. This school definitely gives you the opportunity to be a part os something special in your child's early education.

HCNS is the oldest continually running preschool in Healdsburg and an important part of the local community. Their program is amazing, and promotes learning through play. Great teachers, one of whom is the new director. We have seen many positive changes over the past few years, including more flexible hours and less required parent participation. The school has been wonderful for both my children and our family.

Besides being a wonderful preschool for our girls, HCNS has been a great resource for us as parents. Parent night speakers provide insight into child development, parenting and safety tips. Co-op participation has given us a hands-on sense of our daughter's experience and a supportive network of parents.

Enjoyed the morning program.Director is warm and caring. Unhappy with the 4s program and opted for a stronger pre-k experience elsewhere.
