Olivenhain Country Preschool & Child Care Center

Very sad that a person would make negative comments after only one visit to the school. Even sadder that they would think and make judgements against teachers who have more experience and are more dedicated to these children than anyone I know. OCP is a warm and friendly cshool that believes children's needs are fostered by love and nurture.

I completely disagree with the last posting. I have a son that has been attending this school for over three years. I also have an eight month old that has recently started. The kids are extremely happy. They enjoy the games, the art projects, their teachers and the director. Every month they have a theme that their education surrounds. Last month it is animals. They created many art projects. They made butter. They had sports week, where they learned about basketball, golf, soccer and other sports. Every week they learn about different things that start with a certain letter that is picked for the week and much of what they do involves that letter. They also have time to play on the playground and the classroom and just be a kid. The preschool class has a garden that they plant, tend to and then get to enjoy the fruits of their labor. I couldn't be happier with the school.

I recently toured this school, and the children seemed extremely unhappy. The teachers seemed put out and the school was not well put together. I think that they all have their best intentions in mind, but none of them seem to understand early childhood education or how to properly diffuse an argument between the kiddoes. It seems like a place where your children will be well supervised, but not really taught to or played with.

The best preschool in Encinitas!!! On an acre with programs, food, hrs. Staff, etc!!! Go see it!!!

Fantastic place to leave your child! Caring and nurturing staff, country environment ! One gets that warm, fuzzy feeling just talking with the taechers who are devoted to the kids!
