Sheldon Acres Child Care Center

My son has been going to Sheldon Acres for just about a year now and I researched 5 other pre-schools and chose this one. This school is fabulous, they have a wonderful playground, the school itself is spectacular with all different rooms for the kids to learn and play, and they make all the snacks/meals there onsite. The teachers are wonderful and my son has learned SO much! My son also has Type 1 diabetes and the staff at Sheldon Acres has been no less than PERFECT and ready to learn and take on the challenges of a child with Type 1 diabetes. They have allowed us to attend teacher meetings to teach the staff how to take care of a child with Type 1, they take care of my son as if he was their own. My son loves this school, loves the staff and is sad he can't go on the weekends. When I leave him for the day, I have absolutely NO worries when I am at work all day. They have really treated our son as family. I am grateful for the Staff and Owners of Sheldon Acres every day! I would HIGHLY recommend this school to any parents looking for preschool.

Great school and daycare. My children have been attending for the past 3 years and they love the place. The teachers are caring and patient. The owners go out of their way to help and are doing a great job. As a parent I am pleased with the fact that the school does not put up with kids that bite, pinch, and kick other children in the face. My 3 year old had a recent experience with a child that was doing that and am glad that child is gone. I have referred this school to my friends. You must check this place out.

This school used to be great, but then a lot of its staff left because they were unhappy with how things were going. Discipline is the main issue. When the kids get in trouble, they are ridiculed and isolated for extended periods of time without being allowed to talk. A 3 year old might get a 20 minute time out in the office. It's crazy to think a 3 year old is sent to the principal's office. I've also seen the owners be rude to the kids and demean them.

Great blend of academics and social activities. Wonderful staff and one-of-a-kind playground/park area.
