My son has been attending Fountainhead Orinda for 2.5 years now and he has learned so much there. The teachers are wonderful and very compassionate. I can tell that my son is getting a very enriched experience there as he is constantly exposed to music, art, language in addition to the usual academics. The school is very conveniently located near the freeway and the full-time programs make it easy for working parents. Initially we had some doubts about how much our son is learning after class hours in child care but this past year, the program has really improved and children now work on all sorts of things and not just play in the playground. We like the school and teachers. Jatinder Kaur, the Director, is an amazing educator. While there isn't a lot of opportunities for parents to participate, there are a couple teachers who go out of their way to involve the parents! Ms. Katherine is simply wonderful! We loved her.
Our 2 1/2 year old son loves the Fountainhead Orinda location. The teachers are very caring, take the time to know each child individually, and truly respect and address each child's level of development. Our son has been there for only 2 months and we can already see how much he's learning and most important, enjoying and engaged in the learning process...by the end of the first month, he was counting his numbers in Spanish (1 to 10), has learned multiple nursery rhymes and songs that he sings on his own, recognizes all alphabets (he learned ABCs at 22 months but now recognizes when we're going about our day), expresses himself more with words and conversation, and is more patient and focused with activities/play. I am so happy we decided and went with Fountainhead Montessori.
