I have had two children attending this school for about 6 months now. I looked at just about all of the other schools in Monterey, PG and Carmel. and I am 100% happy with St Dunstan's Preschool. The staff is attentive and very involved, and my children love it. If you are looking for the best student - teacher ratio in the entire Peninsula area, and by that I mean very few students per teacher, you will find it at Saint Dunstan's. The curriculum now includes Spanish, gymnastics, tennis and music "classes," however, St. Dunstan's recognizes that children this age learn best from playing and doing, so for example "Spanish class" is coloring pictures to learn vocabulary and singing in Spanish, completely appropriate for this age group. I'm very comfortable with the children my children are going to school with. I was concerned about negative peer influence at this young age (as I would be at every preschool) but the other parents are very involved in directing their children's learning and growing and raising smart, well balanced, and kind children. We will be continuing at Saint Dunstan's until kindergarten.
I went to visit this school and all the kids were out at the same time in total chaos. I left my name and number with the director to get more information since she was so frazzled to talk to us. Never called. I called again a couple months later to visit---I thought things might have settled down once the school building was built and never received a call back--I can only assume things are still chaotic there.
Horrible school for my daugher. The teachers here are nothing more than glorified babysitters, if that - with the exception of Miss Sarah the 2 year old teacher. This is more of a daycare than a preschool.
