My child has been going there for over 1 year now. She was a very timid and shy girl to start with but over the past year she has blossomed into a bright, confident and joyful girl. I feel that much of this can be contributed to the caring teachers at this school. In addition there is a strong learning ethic which is done through play as well as more traditional 'academic' methods. The one area I feel lets the place down is the lack of outdoor space. That said they are made the best use of what they have.
This school is great. My son has had a wonderful experience during the last two years that he has attended. The teachers are caring and prepared and my son has learned so much. Every method of teaching is different and perhaps the Montessori method is not for everyone. I highly recommend this school.
Every one seemed cold. All the childeren were behaving too robatic. The sparkel and joy of being a kid was missing they just can't let them be kid
This school is quite good comparatively, but misses the boat in various areas. Their curriculum and the quality of their materials is excellent and the teachers' knowledge of how to use them is sound; however, there is a disconnect between the children and the accessing of those materials and learning. Perhaps classroom management is an issue--and in such a small space 25 children of varying ages from 2.5 through 6 can challenge even the very decent teacher-student ratio of 1:8. My child will continue to attend this school for her final year of preschool, but we will not leave without some relief. It was not a joyous environment and after months of attendance several children still cried for their parents. Overall, I think this is a decent school and has the potential to be a very strong school when the right dynamics and balance are achieved.
After paying $12,000 a year I find the school very OVER RATED, it is a 1 ROOM SCHOOL, the rest of the building is their office, bathroom is NOT FIT FOR A 3-4 yr old, and now that I look around I FOUND BETTER SCHOOL FOR $12K YR.
Burlingame Montessori is excellent preparation for kindergarten and beyond. It provides a perfect balance of academic concepts, socialization, and fun for the kids.
Excellent school, strong in academic and the teachers are all very well qualified, loving and flexible.
