We love the family style dining and music and movement programs that Bright Beginnings has to offer. My children come home talking about the fun things they do each day. I am comfortable talking with the staff and administration regarding my children's needs.
My child is in the infant program and we love it. It was very hard for my wife to go back to work and be away from our daughter, but the staff at Bright Beginnings have been so comforting and caring to both us and our daughter. The communication on her day is so thorough. We are so happy to have found this solution!
I have three children that attend Bright Beginnings in the after school program on Old seward, they started at the Abbott location when they were toddlers. They have always enjoyed the program, I have had very few problems over the years and when I did the Teachers and administration were quick to correct it. My kids are doing great in school thanks to the start they received from Bright Beginnings.
My grandchild attends Bright Beginnings preschool and loves it, he is excited about the friends he has there and the teachers. They have great art projects almost every day! They are always introducing new programs and I have learned alot from the parenting information they send home as well.
I was disappointed in my experience there. I had two children enrolled, one in the toddler room and one in the pre-K room. My toddler's teachers changed almost every 2-3 weeks. That is a very insecure age, and just when he would be adjusted to a teacher, they would change. Henever did any kind of crafts or anything, and while I cannot confirm that anything serious happened, I know that he became afraid of going and on the way there he would start crying and say, "Mommy, please don't make me go!" My older child seemed to enjoy it, but she never did any actual pre-K type learning, though they did do crafts sometimes. The most egregious thing was the use of television -- my daughter was only there two days a week, but on one of the days they wanted me to give permission for her to watch a two-hour movie every week! Movies and television are a treat and something we do as a family in our home -- not a form of babysitting. I felt that BBELC provided very expensive glorified babysitting. That would be fine, if they weren't billing themselves as a preschool also.
My daughter started at BBELC on Abbott the month they opened their doors. We have never questioned our decision, and now have two children at this wonderful center. Not only are the teachers and administrators fabulous - they are like family to us. My kids have learned so much and received such great care, we recommend it to everyone.
My grandchildren have since Aug. 2008. We have seen an amazing difference in their social and academic skills. They previously had attended private day care and while good it can't hold a candle to Bright Beginnings.
