The schools d cor is faded, the carpet, wallpaper, and toys are worn out and tuition is not reinvested into the facility or the teachers. This is a business; their idea of taking care of your child is to make sure they have the DHR required number of teachers watching the kids. The director seems nice but is not able to make decisions without the owner s approval. The program director/front office person (owner s daughter) is defensive and condescending when asked a question, when I asked for more information about the curriculum used she told me to look at their website for more information . My child was pushed into a toddler room at 9 months old (before crawling) and left there till he was 2 years old. Despite the fact that we signed up (and paid the annual registration fee of $150) for Early Preschool my child was never moved up to EP due to over enrollment. The turnover rate is terrible; in a matter of 8 months my child had 5 different teachers and too many co-teachers/floaters to keep track. New rules in the name of better accreditation pushed out older teachers and conflicts with the program director pushed out other teachers. Try Madison Premier or Primrose.
We have not enrolled our son yet but loved the tour and the director. The director has been extremely responsive and my husband and I thought the facility was he most secure we have seen. They do need to update their website.
Wow!! I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way. I have to agree with previous parents on many different aspects. First, the teachers are okay. Well the ones I have dealt with; although, they advertise and make it a great point to mention that every classroom has an actual degreed teacher. My child has been in two classes and not had an actual degreed teacher yet; their info is very misleading. Other than the teachers, everything is downhill from their. They hosted a trikathon for St. Jude several weeks ago.. it was very contradictory. They sent out info on bike safety; although, the majority of the kids were not wearing any kind of safety equipment. It was very dangerous, I was there and can say that from personal experience. I was told on private property they don't have to wear helmets. The building is in bad condition, the playground equipment (which is mainly indoor equipment placed outside) is falling apart, and even though they are one of the highest priced daycares the teachers still have to ask parents for supplies. While I cannot say for sure, the front staff is not the most honest and upfront either as compared to the teachers. I recommend choosing elsewhere.
My first child was enrolled at Premier CRP in early 2009. My second child was enrolled there in late 2011. The first few years, we were very pleased with our experience, but lately we've become concerned. While fees have gone up, there does not appear to be much reinvestment in the facility. Class sizes have increased, broken toys are not replaced, broken equipment is not repaired, and the playground needs new equipment. The annual increase in our fees is not reflected in the condition of the building or in the number of teachers available. Wherever the profit is going, it doesn t appear to be here. I am very concerned about the high turn-over of the last two years. I do not feel that the owner or director treat the teachers very well. The director does not appear to involve the teachers in decisions about classroom changes. When a teacher leaves, the announcement is made over email on their very last day, giving the parents little to no warning. Communications from the owner are often abrasive or hostile in nature. Overall, although our experiences with the teaching staff have been positive, I don t know that I would enroll my children at this facility if I were to visit today.
Teachers are really great for the most part-much better than anywhere else we've experienced. We have been very pleased with them. However, there seems to be a very high turnover with no notice to parents. I would not recommend this school to friends for that reason alone. Director is rarely there, and if she is, she seems very cold and uncaring. All that said, the teachers do seem to be wonderful, but you never know if they'll be there tomorrow, next week, next month, etc.
When my children had consistent teachers they were great and really seemed to care for the kids. However, there was a higher than normal turnover. I believe this may have been due to the director.who is very abrasive. With only a week notice she closed the campus my children had been attending. Fees that were paid by parents for the fall, have still not been refunded months later, even though the director said they would be returned. Almost switched to another of the campuses until I learned I would have to pay them the same fee again because it wouldn't transfer.
After weeks, now months, of trying to get ahold of the directors of 2 different centers, I finally stopped by in person and had to hunt them down to get the answers I had been waiting for. They give you the run around, and send you from one campus to the other, then back again. They are very disrespectful of your time, they are unprofessional, they don't return your phone calls, they say they aren't there when you call and ask for them, but when you go in person they are there every time, and they change the tuition costs from one center to another, and what they tell you when you finally manage to get ahold of them and talk to them changes from day to day. I am VERY disappointed with Premier Preschool, and I am sorry that I have wasted so much of my time trying to give them my business. That was valuable time I could have been using to look elsewhere.
Our child was enrolled at Premier School(Research Park location) at age 18 months through the summer prior to kindergarten. Our biggest complaint was not enough consistency...policy, teaching methods, personnel. There were numerous days when our child's normal teachers would be absent. It was not uncommon for there to be a handful of different teachers in the class each day/week. Also, the curriculum that was promoted at the beginning of the semester was not followed through (no reason given just dropped). The director and other front office staff had varying schedules which left us as parents not knowing whom to speak with regarding our concerns.
We have been with Premier for 3 years. The Director of the school is very good and responsible in comparison to some of the other schools we 'tried out' before settling with Premier. Our only issue with Premier has been with the teachers. In every class there is usually one very good teacher and occasionally the others are not as good. So half of the time the kids are picking up bad habits because they aren't being watched closely enough. However, this has been something that we've accepted because the kids are generally great, there is little turnover in staff and parents/families and it has been worth keeping our child there for those reasons. Some of the teachers in each age group are excellent and we can't say enough about them as they truly care about the kids.
Does any one know a good program that teaches... (0 replies)
