My school has been a breath of fresh air! When our daughter was 9 weeks old, we used a "traditional" daycare. And HATED it! So, at 6 months, enough was enough and we switched to Weinacker's Montessori and let me tell you...it was a BREATH OF FRESH AIR!!! The teachers were engaging in her learning, and nurturing her skills, and she was a totally different baby. Fast forward to now, she's 3 1/2 years old and still loving it. I highly recommend this school
My school is the Montessori close to Christ the King church. It provides a super environment for my grandson Paul Powell.
My son has been going to a Weinacker's Montessori School since he was an infant. I am very pleased with the care and level of education he has gotten while in attendance. He is currently at the University location. He is very happy to be at school there.
My daughter has attended the Weinacker's Montessori School in Daphne since she was two and a half and I could not be happier. Her teachers are absolutely wonderful and not only educate my daughter, but love and nurture her. She has so much confidence and is so independent and I believe it's because of WMS. Her lead teacher is bilingual and now, at four years old, my daughter speaks English, some Spanish and some sign language. She knows all of her letter sounds, is adding numbers, and can read small words. It's truly amazing. There was a change in directorship fairly recently and I was a bit nervous but the new director is phenomenal. She is helpful, always available, answers all of my questions and addresses any concerns. I am 100% pleased with this school. I pay more to send my child here than I would somewhere else, but you get what you pay for. My daughter is receiving the best education I could have hoped for.
I really like this school and my daughter enjoyed her teacher this past year. The only problem I had is that it seemed to me that the little kids were slapping at each other alot on the playground. The teachers would stay back and allow the kids to "work it out" on their own. I'm sorry, but making the kids "work it out" on their own by hitting each other does not seem to be the right thing to do. There is a big difference between teaching "self help skills" and just watching the kids slapping at each other on the playground. My daughter would tell me that another girl slapped her and she was told, "You need to learn how to stand up for yourself. You shouldn't have let that girl slap you." What's that supposed to mean? I guess that's all a part of growing up these days and that's the kind of thing that happens on playgrounds with a bunch of kids running around. Overall, my daughter learned alot and I think that she's going to do pretty good in school because she learned a whole bunch at this nice little school.
This school is great. My children love coming into a welcoming environment that encourages learning.
